Starting in May, the 5 groups will garden a plot of land to plant, grow, water, maintain, and harvest, fruits, vegetables and herbs. The majority of the harvest will go to the CCDF’s food pantry, located at 1000 5th avenue in Coraopolis.

Important Dates:
April 19th 6:30 PM – The CCDF Garden Team will host a “gardening 101” at the garden house located at 411 Broadway Street in Coraopolis. We will show the groups their plot of land and have a short presentation. We will show the garden and we will introduce the CCDF Gardening Team.

May 7th and 13th – The garden will be cleaned and tilled, preparing the ground for planting. This will be a community event. The CCDF Garden Team will have a call for volunteers, group leaders are encouraged to come, but not required. Clean up days are very physical and not the best days to bring kids to the garden. Lunch will be served.

May 20th – Planting Day! The CCDF Garden Team will plant their plants on this day. We encourage all groups to join us on planting day to start the season off. Light refreshments will be served.
